know, the more you can relax and enjoy the underwater world of diving!
Sea-Ventures is committed to being the premiere dive shop serving the Washington DC Metropolitan
area including Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. To keep with this commitment,
Sea-Ventures offers a variety of continuing education and advanced skills courses for our diving
community.
Our professional and dedicated staff of instructors and dive control specialists are here to make sure
you get the training you need to become a safe and proficient diver.
Stress Rescue - Become a Safer Diver
All divers have experienced some stress while diving, but do we really understand what diver stress is
all about? By being able to recognize stress in others, we can help reduce stress and reduce the
possibility of having to perform a rescue.
Join in our next offering of the Stress Rescue Course. This Course has two class room sessions, two
pool sessions and one day of open water experience. You will be trained in how to recognize diver
stress, techniques of self rescue, how to help avoid a rescue situation and, when all else fails, how to
handle a diving emergency.
Unlike some other rescue programs, this course is not one that you have to survive, it is one that you
will experience and enjoy. Check our course schedule page for dates or contact the shop to schedule
your Stress Rescue Course.
Cost of the course is $150, which does not include text materials or scuba equipment.
Learn to Dive Enriched Air Nitrox
Heard about Nitrox? Not sure what is all about? Stay down longer? Deeper? Shorter surface
intervals? We can answer all these questions and get you ready to dive NITROX!
We offer a great approach to learning to dive Enriched Air Nitrox. Our course is the recreation oriented
SSI Nitrox course. This course does not require open water dives unless you are crediting them toward
your SSI Advanced Open Water (AOW) rating.
The SSI Nitrox course is offered on the 2nd Monday of each month from 7PM to 9:30PM. If that
schedule does not work we may be able to offer it at a time convenient for you.
As in all SSI courses, the primary knowledge is covered through home study. The classroom is
intended to reaffirm the student's understanding of the core concepts, review and update understanding
of decompression theory, and assist in dive planning including the analyzing of Nitrox mixes. The cost of
the SSI course is $75 plus materials (text and slate). All materials and knowledge reviews must be
completed before the classroom session.
