Monthly Photo Contest
The winning photo for April 2006 is "Underwater Cactus" by John Shanks. Congrats John!
John's entry "Underwater Cactus" was taken in January 2006 while on a Blackbeard's Cruise off of
Bimini, The Bahamas. John was using a Sea Life, DC 500 Digital Camera.

** Each month members of Nova Ventures Dive Club and customers of Sea Ventures Dive Shop can
submit photos from their underwater experiences for the Monthly Photo Content. Each month a winner
will be chosen and the monthly winner will have their photo displayed on the Nova Ventures and Sea
Ventures web sites. Additionally, each monthly winner will recieve a $25.00 gift certificate good for
merchandise at Sea Ventures Dive Shop. In January of each year, we will pick one photo from the
previous 12 months to be the annual photo winner. The annual winner will receive a $100 gift certificate
from Sea Ventures and their next years membership in Nova Ventures Dive Club free of charge.
Photo Contest Rules:
1. All photos submitted must be no older than six months, and must be taken underwater while engaged
in SCUBA diving or Snorkeling.
2. All photos submitted should include the month and year taken, location, type of camera and
photographer's name. Photographs will only be accepted from the person actually taking the
photograph, with the exception of minor children, in which case a parent or legal guardian can submit a
photograph on behalf of the minor child.
3. Individuals submitting photographs agree to have their name along with the picture posted on the Sea
Ventures and Nova Ventures web site.
4. To submit entries e-mail a digital image in .jpg format to jeshanks@novascuba.org, with all required
information listed above. Please use PHOTO CONTEST ENTRY in the subject line of all e-mail
entries. New entries will be added to the web site on a weekly basis.
5. Sea Ventures and Nova Ventures are not responsible for pictures that are not delivered via e-mail or
are sent in any format other than .jpg.
